About

Hi, my name is Michał Sobczak and I’m a Senior Level Designer.
Games have been my passion ever since I was a child. Over time, I became fascinated not only with playing them but also with how they actually work. It all started with sketching simple levels for Contra (NES) or experimenting with the map editor in Battle City. Later, I discovered more tools: the Warcraft II map editor, the Rayman level editor, and many others. I loved playing games, but equally enjoyed creating content for them.
I also had the chance to work as a video game journalist, writing reviews and sharing my opinions with a wider audience.
My professional journey in game development began in 2012, when I started out as a QA Tester. In 2015, I joined Techland, and a year later I was promoted to Junior Level Designer. During my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work for studios such as Techland (AAA RPG), CI Games (Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2), Flying Wild Hog (Shadow Warrior 3), and Creepy Jar (Star Rupture). I’ve gained knowledge not only in the game production process but also in working with tools such as Unreal Engine 4/5, CryEngine, and C-Engine.
Today I work as a Senior Level Designer—still as passionate about games as ever. Through this blog, I want to share my knowledge, experience, and opinions with others. I also aim to help people better understand game and level design, which is why in the near future I plan to offer paid consultations.
